The main characteristics of aluminum:
①Aluminum is a silver light metal with a density of about 2.72 g/cm3, which is about 1/3 of pure copper.
②The calorific capacity of aluminum and its Latent heat of melting is high. The melting point of pure aluminum is about 661 ℃, and its oxide Al2O3 is about 2050 ℃. The boiling point is about 2450℃.
③ Aluminum is face-centered cubic structure.
④ Industrial pure aluminum plastic plate is high (Z=80%), it is easy to sustain various forming processes. But its strength is too low. After cold deformation strengthening or alloying to improve pure aluminum strength, it can only be used as structural materials.
⑤ The dilatation coefficient of aluminum wire is 23.5x10*/9(below 100C), and its elastic modulus is 70 GPa.
⑥Aluminum electric conductivity is about 60% of copper, resistivity is 50% of copper, and thermal conductivity is 70% of copper.
The order of conductivity of common metals from high to low is: Ag>Cu>Au>Al
In short, aluminum has low density, good plasticity, tractability, good corrosion resistance, and rich resources, accounting for about 7.73% (mass fraction) in the crust.
